Munchkin Panic plays in a bit of a different way than the original. In the original, the active player is placed on the map and can do any of the things (in fact, they get limited choices by the turn order) until the turn ends. The players then split up into roles, one of which is active and moves around the board drawing Munchkin cards, and the others of which are passive. Munchkins are played in ranked sets of four, with a limited number of each card being able to be played per turn. Winning a set allows you to draw a new set.

Munchkin Panic works in a similar way, with the active player having to collect Munchkin cards, as well as other coins, which can be used to buy cards. As you play, you gain more cards, and as you play longer, you gain more and more, and you gain special cards, which are earned once all your monsters are defeated.
A quick fire game of Munchkin will be over in less than 30 minutes. I consider that to be perfect if you and your friends are just hitting that getting-to-know-you phase of Munchkin. Munchkin Panic will be a little longer, and it gives you more decisions to make.
I like Munchkin Panic because it brings more to the table than Munchkin. In Munchkin, you might get a good gooey feeling from your opponents, or you might get frustrated over being in your opponents lap. It was not something I took to so that left me a little cold.
In Munchkin Panic, you have the opportunity to work alongside your opponents, helping them to the best of your ability. You can get in their way or go around. It can be a really fun game even with 2 players. If there are 4, it can be even better, with the added advantage of the fear of having no one to ask for help.
